Explore Capcana Ecological Wonderland

Environment

Adding to Cap Cana’s spectacular design and architecture is the extraordinary beauty throughout this development, with its flora and peculiar fauna. This makes Cap Cana one of the Dominican Republic’s most versatile tourist destinations. The ocean, the beach, the cliffs, and the tropical forests combine together to make Cap Cana an exquisite natural asset.

Cap Cana is home to different endemic and uncommon species of plants and animals, providing the country with immense ecological wealth. One of the main features of Cap Cana is its Great Ecological Trail, which extends 15 kms. Along the trail you can find the Hoyo Azul station, a carstic depression located at the foot of the Great Cliff. Here you can observe, grottos, wet forests, peculiar fauna, and a beautiful pond with crystal blue water. Welcoming visitors to the Great Ecological Trail is the Cotoperí, an endemic and endangered fruit tree; the only one found so far at Cap Cana, making proof of its biodiversity.
